Are you selective when you are shining loving kindness?

My neigbor was putting this sharp object to prevent any animal to enter his house especially our cats.
It’s so hard and sharp.
Imagine how painful if we accidentally step on it?
Why can’t we be empathy?
Imagine if you are the stray animals, stay in hunger, thirsty, fear, worry and some more injured and wounded by this sharp object.
Always be mindful when you are taking any action, bringing happiness or causing suffering.
Never lost your compassion.
